Hailing from Toulon, France, ABI Afrobeat, is a seven-piece band led by Isaac Koffi, blending afrobeat with Caribbean grooves, jazz, and socially conscious lyrics.

Back in 2022, they delivered a live rendition of “Pkin,” a vibrant track inspired by African proverbs passed down through generations. The song’s title, meaning “words” in Baoulé, encapsulates the essence of ancestral teachings, promoting values of respect, humility, and resilience.

Performed live at Live à l’Île de Beauté, “Pkin” highlights Abi Afrobeat’s signature blend of West African and Caribbean rhythms. With its rich instrumentation—featuring saxophone, trombone, percussion, and Koffi’s commanding bass and vocals—”Pkin” captures the band’s mission to honour African traditions while inspiring connection and reflection through music.
