It’s tonight! If you’re in London, don’t miss Buzz’Ayaz live at the Shacklewell Arms—free entry. Get ready to dive into their electrifying fusion of psychedelic rock and Eastern Mediterranean folk.
Led by Antonis Antoniou (of Monsieur Doumani and Trio Tekke) on electric tzouras, vocals, and electronics, with Manos Stratis on bass synth and organ, Will Scott on bass clarinet, and Ulaş Öğüç on drums and triggers, Buzz’Ayaz blends dubby electronics, 70s psych-rock, and folk melodies, creating a soundscape that mirrors Cyprus’s complex political landscape.
Their latest single, “Alu,” taken from their self-titled debut album on Glitterbeat Records, channels a dark, hypnotic energy, packed with gritty saz riffs, growling bass clarinet, and driving rhythms. The track is a standout, showcasing their unique fusion of Eastern Mediterranean psychedelia with fuzzed-out urban soundscapes.
If you miss them tonight, catch Buzz’Ayaz on the rest of their UK tour:
