“Búho,” is the first single extracted from Colombian artist Savan‘s Antes del Amanecer album, out on the 29th of March via Real World X. The tune encapsulates a mystical dialogue between vocalist Maitara and the traditional kuisi flute, with the owl taking centre stage.
This track is part of an eight-song exploration into the Colombian Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta’s soundscape, influenced by local birds and indigenous myths.
Savan, also known as Jose Miguel Navas, infuses this work with environmental and ancestral themes, drawing from his experiences in Amazonian and Sierra Nevada music. The album reflects a deep engagement with rainforest medicine ceremonies, contributing to its unique sound and spiritual depth.
