Afrodelic, a spell-binding mix of African poetry and modern sounds, is the solo project by Lithuanian guitarist and producer Victor Diawara. He is ready to release his debut album, Dusunkun Hakili, which pays tribute to his father, Gaoussou Diawara, an influential Malian writer and poet who passed away in 2018.
The majority of the songs were recorded in Bamako with local musicians and then reworked in Victor’s studio in Vilnius. The album features an intriguing mix of African music and electronic rhythms. The first single extracted from the album, “Le Temps Est Venú”, was released in June 2020, and features lyrics by Victor’s father.
Meanwhile, “Bè Ka Wili,” the latest single from Afrodelic, is a lively tune that urges everyone to dance and blends tribal beats with traditional Malian sounds.
Victor is also a successful music producer and runs one of Lithuania’s most important alternative venues, art factory Loftas.
