Josef Akin is a pianist, keyboardist, producer, and composer who is currently based in Glasgow and London. He draws inspiration from a diverse range of musical genres such as jazz, hip-hop, dance, afrobeat, and spiritual jazz.

In 2021, Akin launched his first album Flightcase, and has performed with his band at numerous festivals and venues including Ronnie Scott’s, Latitude Festival, Celtic Connections, and Wilderness Festival.

The song “Sundanz” (“Sundance”) was originally featured on Akin’s debut EP, Empty Space which was released in 2019. The EP comprises early recordings that Akin made over a two-year period, exploring various sonic spaces and textures.
