Walthamstow Trades Hall
61/63 Tower Hamlets Road
London, United Kingdom, E17 4RQ
Monthly reggae disco in North-East London. The night is named after sadly departed MC Earl Anthony Robinson, the voice behind classic deejay tunes such as “Drunken Master”.
For our July session we’re excited to welcome RICHIE MAHARISHI HI-FI to Walthamstow to select tunes for us for the first time.
An established figure on the London reggae revive scene, if you’ve ever heard any of the Maharishi Hi-Fi ‘Musical Fever’ radio shows then you’ll know you’re in for a treat. On the radio, Richie champions The Sound of Vintage Jamaica – and brings back the days when dance used to nice with a cutting edge, across the board selection of the best in original jazz, soul, R&B, doo-wop and Latin, as well as ska, rocksteady and roots rock reggae, as inspired by Jamaican Sound-System culture. Get set for an exploratory delve through the music that influenced Jamaican musicians as well as all styles, genres, tempos and eras of Jamaican music itself. It’s a musical meditation, designed to raise the vibration and strengthen the constitution…
Come and listen to some of the greatest music ever made in a beautiful old school social club.
