Extending a super special invitation for Friday the 19th of July. El Quinto Elemento video-clip release will be an evening to celebrate Afro-Colombian traditions with music and dance. With songs from INELEMENTUM, bullerengues and chants, we will be offering sound, movement and the beat of the drums to the ancestors as a call for love and unity.

ESTEBAN CARD – Melding ancestral drumming music from Colombia in a contemporary context.
Esteban Card presents a distinctive twist on folkloric Colombian music. His innovative mixture of ancestral chants and drumming with organic contemporary sounds represents a forward-facing musical identity with a trance-inducing soundscape. His music channels Colombia’s African heritage via Bullerengue with a thought-provoking modern-day awareness.
His AfroColombiaBeat production stamp has been embraced by audiences across the UK, at venues including Rich Mix, Wilderness Festival, Hootananny, Juju’s Bar, Arts By The Sea Festival, Lola MC and met with critical acclaim by tastemakers Gilles Peterson and Alex Wharton.

DEMBIS THIOUNG
Dembis Thioung is a mesmerizing master of the dunduns, the melodic and hypnotic West African bass drums. The traditional West African Dundun are a set of three double-sided drums hit with sticks made by wood and cowskin that make up the HEARTBEAT, the MELODY and the SOUL of traditional West African ensemble djembe music. However Dembis’s skills as a percussionist are not reserved for West African rhythms alone. He is also a versatile independent performing artist and has played live and recorded albums with internationally acclaimed artists including Carlou D and Baaba Mal.
