Becoming a global beats sensation is no stroke of luck—it’s a remarkable journey, and ONIPA knows it best. The “Humans” – Onipa in Akan, the ancient language of the Ashanti people of Ghana – have not only achieved that status but also maintained it for over five years now, developing one of the freshest and most original sounds around.

From an early 2017 session to their freshly released album, Off the Grid, their music has evolved into an enthralling fusion of Afrofuturism, electro-pop, highlife, afrobeat, house, hip-hop, and funk.

Off The Grid, which marks the band’s second full-length album and their debut release on none other than Peter Gabriel’s Real World Records, features an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Moonchild Sanelly, David Walters, Dele Sosimi, and Theon Cross.

In their efforts to promote this new release, Kweku, Tom, Fin, and Dwayne are prepared to take their music across the UK and Europe, sharing and playing it far and wide.
