We are excited to host a new monthly section on Rhythm Passport curated by the nice people, travellers at heart and music lovers at Hit The Road Music Studio.
In 2018, they hit the road from Poland to Morocco on their “magic bus”, a fully equipped caravan with professional studio recording equipment as well as cameras, to film and record live sessions with local musicians.
Check out the latest episode of their adventure and get the good music rolling…
“Ambition and focus always pay off” – Zegro Band formed in 2013 as an initiative of young musicians from Agadir inspired by the culture of their hometown. They play a wide variety of styles from jazz to rock, dance music to Afro-fusion, all mixed with traditional sounds from their homeland and thought-provoking messages to inspire their audience.
Over the past decade, Zegro Band has performed at many festivals, clubs and events around Morocco. The band has more festivals than they can count under their belt, including International Jawhara Festival, L’Boulvard, TalGuitart and more…
Today, they keep on collaborating on several projects and making guest appearances at various gigs throughout Morocco, looking forward to cross all borders worldwide and play on international stages.
This was a wonderful recording session in a magical place called Jazzawiya, the place for Gnawa music in Morocco. I felt like home and the sound was amazing. Special thanks goes to Prikou who helped us during the whole session. We are all the same!
