“Motumbá Remix” is a collaboration between percussionist Pedrito Martinez and violinist/singer Yilian Cañizares. The remix combines traditional Afro-Cuban rhythms with hyper-pop and improvised music, creating a powerful and enchanting sound. Produced by two-time Latin Grammy winner Alê Siqueira, the track merges ancestral Afro-Cuban elements with electronic and pop influences.

Pedrito Martinez, a master percussionist and singer from Havana, is known for his deep expertise in classic Cuban rumbas and Afro-Cuban music. Yilian Cañizares, originally a violinist and vocalist from Havana, now based in Switzerland, blends jazz, classical, and Afro-Cuban influences into her music, making her a standout figure in contemporary jazz.

With visuals and animation by Leo Perez, this track is a reimagining of an original from Yilian’s album Habana-Bahia. adding new depth and energy to the piece.
