“Hado 波動” is the latest single from WaqWaq Kingdom’s Mind Onsen EP, released on 26th July 2024 through Phantom Limb. This track taps into the deep roots of Okinawan Ryukyuan dance, reflecting themes of feminine power, natural forces, and ancient myths.

The music video for “Hado,” released yesterday, 15th of August, commemorates the end of World War II. It’s a powerful piece that not only honours history but also serves as a plea for peace in today’s world.

WaqWaq Kingdom, a duo consisting of Shigeru Ishihara (DJ Scotch Egg) and Kiki Hitomi, is celebrated for blending traditional Japanese sounds with cutting-edge and experimental electronic music. In “Hado,” they skillfully mix Okinawan musical traditions with modern elements like breakneck rhythms and ethereal soundscapes, creating a hypnotic, meditative journey.
