“Once In A Lifetime” returns W.I.T.C.H. to studio work with a Zambian reframe of Talking Heads’ 1980 single. The track arrives via BBE Music as part of Naive Melodies, a Talking Heads tribute curated by Drew McFadden and mixed by Mikaelin “Blue” Bluespruce, following recent verions by Rogê and Kenny Dope with Róisín Murphy.

Formed in Kitwe in the early 1970s, W.I.T.C.H. (We Intend To Cause Havoc) helped define Zamrock through guitar-led arrangements, ensemble vocals and a firm drum centre. Emmanuel “Jagari” Chanda fronts the current line-up, carrying the band’s classic approach into recent sessions and tours while keeping arrangements compact and rhythm-forward.

On “Once In A Lifetime”, the group sets a firm backbeat with a guitar-led arrangement and vocals that move from unison to call-and-response. The treatment keeps the song’s essential outline while toughening the rhythm section and foregrounding ensemble voices within a clear Zamrock frame.
