In 2023, Brazilian guitarist Nino Costa and Italian singer Viola Ottomari co-founded the duo Nino e Viola. Viola Ottomari, passionate about Brazilian music and jazz, studied under Amélia Rabello in 2021 and has performed in various musical projects, including the Soul Bossa trio and Bossa Nossa duo. Nino Costa, with roots in Olinda (PE), is an accomplished guitarist who collaborated with notable artists while teaching music.

Their recent release, a cover of “Jongo de Compadre” by the influential Brazilian guitarist and composer Guinga, epitomises the captivating fusion of Brazilian rhythms and melodies featured on their album Petricor. This album signifies both a culmination and a fresh wellspring of inspiration, much like the scent of petrichor heralding nourishing rain.
