In November 2023, Brazilian group Urucum recorded a vibrant live session at Azzul Sabiá studios, showcasing their single “Le Cinque” in collaboration with Kriya Films and Inca Music. Led by Jimmy Reuter, the nine musicians fused afrobeat, jazz, funk, prog, and Afro-Brazilian rhythms in an energetic performance that highlights Urucum’s unique sound.

Formed in 2017 in Curitiba, southern Brazil, Urucum comprises six core members: Jimmy Reuter (guitar, keyboards), Celso Joabe (trumpet, keyboards), Renato Vieira (bass), Fábio Macedo (percussion), Eduardo Leite (percussion), and Luiz Fernando Diogo (drums). Often joined by special guests, the group blends their Brazilian roots with soul, jazz, and traditional rhythms, drawing on African and Afro-American influences with modern grooves inspired by contemporary instrumental acts like Bixiga 70, Nômade Orquestra, and Snarky Puppy.

Their new album, Virajã, released in July by Inca Music, features nine original tracks and furthers their mission to bring instrumental music from Paraná to a wider audience.
