Daily Discovery: The Langan Band – One Whole Year

The Langan Band is a Scottish folk trio that has gained a reputation for their unorthodox blend of traditional and avant-folk music over the past 15 years. The trio features three talented multi-instrumentalists: John Langan (guitar, vocals, percussion and accordion), Alistair Caplin (violin, viola, accordion and vocals), and Dave Tunstall (double bass, mandolin, small pipes and vocals).

Their upcoming album, Plight o’ Sheep, was recorded mainly live at Black Bay Studio on the Isle of Bernera in the Outer Hebrides, capturing the trio’s raw energy and passion. Produced by Pete Fletcher, the album is a musically complex and emotionally powerful collection of songs, with “One Whole Year” serving as the lead single, showcasing the trio’s lyrical and instrumental abilities.
