Daily Discovery: Mokoomba – Nzara Hapana

After the successful release of Luyando five years ago, Zimbabwean group Mokoomba is back with a new single named “Nzara Hapana” from their upcoming fourth album Tusona: Tracings in the Sand, which will be available on July 7th through Outhere Records. The song’s lyrics are in Shona, and it means “no hunger.”

The group aims to highlight important issues affecting Zimbabwe through their music. The song tells the story of a man who writes a letter to his wife expressing his love and commitment to providing for their family. He also creates a will to protect his wife from future property disputes, which is a common problem faced by many women in Zimbabwe.

The song’s message is that a family can overcome any adversity with proper planning and investment, and the lyrics emphasize this point.
