Daily Discovery: Natty – Fiyahman feat. Kibir La Amlak

“Fiyahman” is the latest single from Natty, a British singer-songwriter renowned for his unique blend of reggae and soul. Originally from San Francisco but raised in London, Natty gained fame after being discovered on the London open mic circuit and subsequently signed by Atlantic Records. His music often incorporates themes of spirituality and liberation, deeply influenced by his cultural roots.

Following on his recent EP Ascension, “Fiyahman” is inspired by Nyahbinghi music, essential to RasTafari culture. The music video was shot at Mumma Fyah’s Tabernacle in Jamaica, which recently sustained damage from Hurricane Beryl. The location adds a resonant depth to Natty’s lyrics, which call for casting off life’s restrictions and embracing renewal.

Coinciding with the single’s release is a fundraising initiative to repair and rejuvenate Mumma Fyah’s Tabernacle, highlighting the community’s resilience and the ongoing relevance of its spiritual traditions.
