In December 2022, the all-female Detroit-based jazz fusion group Musique Noire released their new EP titled in*ter*gen*er*a*tion*al. The album features collaborations with three up-and-coming artists who composed and produced pieces reflecting their power as women or women they admire.
Led by violinist Michelle May, the group produces a sophisticated fusion sound using strings and percussion.
Their latest single “Kaleidoscope,” composed by violinist Leah Celebi‘s husband, is a standout track on the EP.
With this release, Musique Noire hopes to preserve their unique performances and songwriting while leaving a legacy for the next generation.
