MELONYX, a Nottingham-based duo comprised of Georgia Copeland and Nadia Latoya, has released their latest single “At The Door”. Their music is a blend of modern black-British soul, drawing on influences from hip hop, nu-soul, and lover’s rock.
“At The Door” is produced by fellow Nottingham-based artist Joe Buhdha and features sultry vocals and harmonies. The song is a call for compromise and surrendering one’s ego in relationships, with a focus on reconciliation and unquenchable love and attraction.
The single is part of their upcoming debut album, Soul Glow (out in July via Tru Thoughts), which is a manifestation of the growth and evolution of the duo and sheds light on the value, power, and energy of Black women. The album features singles such as “Melanin Queens,” “Solar Power,” and “Energy” and tackles the themes of self-acceptance, undervaluation, and strength.
