Malli, named after the Kannada word for “Jasmine flower,” is deeply rooted in exploring the notion of home. Consisting of three dedicated full-time members—Arsh Sood, Mana Contractor, and Navneet Rao—the band’s sound is an amalgamation of their diverse journeys to the United States. 

Drawing inspiration from neo-soul, jazz, funk, and world music, Malli creates a unique sound that takes listeners on a profound journey through themes of love, longing, and the search for one’s place in the world.

Supported by a talented group of collaborators, Malli’s debut EP, Leaving Home, marks the first part of a two-part series. Their latest single, “Little Fly,” highlights their evolving style, characterised by soulful vocals, intricate guitar arrangements, and South Asian-influenced percussion.
