Athens-based Afro-funk sextet Kugaya blends classic Afro-grooves with layered orchestration, driving guitars, and bold saxophone lines, creating a rich and dynamic sound.

Their latest single, “G.A.I.A.,” is an afrobeat-driven story of resilience and gratitude. During their first tour, the band was involved in a car accident. The G.A.I.A. team, a local fire department branch, came to their aid that night. As a gesture of gratitude, Kugaya named both the song and their upcoming album after them.

The band features Giorgos Kokkinos and Thanasis Sipsas on guitars, Dimitris Zervos Hill on drums, Stavros Sipsas on bass, Gassy Meros on percussion, Miguel Navarro on tenor sax and Panagiotis Koukoutas on baritone sax.
