Koto Brawa, a singer, drummer and percussionist from Burkina Faso, draws inspiration from the struggles of young people for their dignity after slavery, colonization and neo-colonialism.
In his latest single “Mazo”, he denounces the crimes committed against Afro-descendants and indigenous people, and expresses his outrage at the impoverishment of people around the world.
Brawa’s music is a fusion of Burkinabe rhythms with funk, blues, jazz, folk, RnB/Soul, reggae and electro.
“Mazo” previews his upcoming EP Sihiminin which means “What should we do?” in the Birifor language of Burkina Faso.
