KOKOKO! is back with their freshest single “Salaka Bien” and is set to embark on a headline tour across the UK and Europe, alongside appearances at various summer festivals.

“Salaka Bien” boasts percussion crafted from ceramic pots and pans, paired with Bianko‘s lyrics delivering a blend of whimsy and provocation. The band characterises it as a bass-centric piece drawing from punk, funk and vintage house music, crafting a mesmerising sonic landscape.

This track is a preview of their forthcoming album, BUTU, delving into Kinshasa’s pulsating nightlife and honouring the city’s inventive ethos. Helmed by Xavier Thomas, also known as Débruit, the album promises an electronic, high-energy vibe distinct from their earlier works.

Thematically, KOKOKO! remains committed to addressing political and social issues in the Democratic Republic of Congo, utilising their music as a vehicle for activism and dissent.
