Daily Discovery: IMA by Noga Ritter (feat. Seckou Keita)

We start to celebrate Women’s Day in music featuring a brand new single and music video by Noga Ritter, a good friend of Rhythm Passport who recently performed at Woolwich Works as part of our Arsenal of Sounds Music Series with Olcay Bayir.

Today, Noga released “IMA” (meaning “mother” in Hebrew), the title track of her upcoming album set to release in May. The song (which features Senegalese griot Seckou Keita), is a heartfelt tribute to Noga’s mother, Michal Ritter, who passed away last spring. Noga shared that “IMA” represents her wish for her mother and all women to soar high and celebrate their creative power.

This music video marks the launch of the Leviot Collective, a group of female dancers and artists who have come together to carry on Michal Ritter’s legacy. The collective explores how women can embrace their artistic voice while being mothers, healers, and supporting one another on their journey as creative women in this world.
