Merge Records is set to release Hollie Cook‘s highly anticipated dub album, Happy Hour in Dub, on August 11, 2023. The album, which follows her 2022’s release Happy Hour, presents a fresh and innovative take on Cook’s original pieces by combining the uptempo elements of the songs with a strong drum and bass backbone.

Ben Mckone, the producer, has skillfully expanded Cook’s soulful tunes into the dub territory, featuring additional vocals from Josh Skints and Kiko Bun.

Happy Hour in Dub‘s highlight, “Golden Dub,” showcases the talent of London’s renowned trombonist and composer, Rosie Turton.
