Emel Mathlouthi, renowned for her role in the Arab Spring with her anthem “Kelmti Horra,” releases a new single “NAR” featuring Mali’s pioneering female rapper, Ami Yerewolo.
Their joint effort brings together Emel’s eclectic mix of rock, electronic music, North African rhythms, and trip-hop with Ami’s genuine Malian rap, deeply infused with the Bambara language and traditional Malian instruments such as the kora, ngoni, and yebara. The result is a compelling musical tale that aligns with their common values of revolution, liberty, and cultural genuineness.
“NAR” is featured in Emel’s forthcoming album MRA, scheduled for release through the French label Yotanka Records in mid-April. For further details, follow this LINK
