“Espuma” is the latest single by Mexican singer/songwriter and violinist Ely Manjarrez. The song mixes elements of folk, organic and synthetic instruments with current alternative music, resulting in an experimental sound without losing her characteristic violin and lyrical expression.
Ely, who’s currently based in Mexico City, was born in Culiacán and has been creating music that combines genres and explores emotional and reflective themes for several years. Her style has been described as a mix of indie pop, folk, jazz, and traditional Mexican music.
“Espuma” is part of a four-song EP (titled Estaciones) in which she worked with producer Raúl Torres to capture the essence of her musical project. The EP combines elements of folk, organic and synthetic instruments with current alternative music, giving Ely’s music an authentic and emotional feeling.
