Elida Almeida recently released “Estranadinha,” a new rendition of a song by composer Frank Cavaquim, previously made famous by Cesária Évora.
Originating from church singing on Santiago Island, Cape Verde, Elida’s musical journey began a significant turn in 2014 when discovered by José da Silva of Lusafrica Records. Since then, she has released four albums, collaborated with Cabo Verdean artists, and gained recognition worldwide for her performances.
Known for blending Cabo Verdean beats with Afro-Latin influences, “Estranadinha” marks another chapter in Elida’s evolving style and follows her 2023’s album, Di Lonji, out via Lusafrica Records.
