Conjunto Guantánamo released their new track “Guitar, Tobacco and Rum” on 27 March via Nganga Records, suggesting there might be a new album on the way.
The song features Jose Pepito Gomez on lead vocals and the tres guitar, with Hector Torres and Ulises Beato on bongo and congas, blending of Afro-Cuban rhythms and contemporary influences. This showcases their evolution from their roots in New York City’s music scene since 2003.
Conjunto Guantánamo is known for refreshing classic Afro-Cuban music by infusing their own twist into the traditional Cuban son, highlighting the country’s rich musical and cultural heritage.
