Swedish flautist Annarella Sörlin and Malian ngoni master Django Diabaté will release their debut album Jouer on 25th October 2024. The duo’s collaboration began during a 2022 European tour with Wau Wau Collectif, an Afro-European project blending Senegalese traditional music with electronic and experimental sounds. Their time with Wau Wau Collectif inspired them to merge the delicate tones of the Scandinavian flute with the earthy rhythms of the West African ngoni, creating a unique fusion of their musical roots.

The album’s second single, “Megaphone,” released on the 24th September, introduces an infectious Afro-groove featuring the dynamic interplay of Django’s ngoni and vocals alongside Marietou Kouyaté. This vibrant track highlights the blending of traditional West African rhythms and melodic Scandinavian influences, capturing the essence of Jouer‘s cross-cultural sound.
