On the 12th of March, Brazilian musician André Araújo releases “Ultravioleta,” the first single from his upcoming solo project. Known for his work as a guitarist and bassist, he now embraces his voice and songwriting, stripping things back to the essence of bossa nova.
Recorded between São Luís and São Paulo, “Ultravioleta” pairs Araújo’s guitar and vocals with Isaías Alves’ subtle samba-driven drumming. The lyrics, co-written with poet Ederson Hising, bring an intimate touch to the song’s romantic feel.
With minimal post-production and a jazz-inflected approach, “Ultravioleta” offers a glimpse into the direction of André Araújo’s upcoming work.
