Throughout the last four months of 2022, from its Woolwich Works residency, Arsenal of Sounds has travelled around Europe and crossed the Mediterranean to reach its African shores. Now, it’s finally time to explore the African music Continent by presenting an evening of warm and enthusiastic Pan-African sounds.
On Friday the 3rd of February, on the Beanfeast Stage, we will host two dance-inducing, energetic and brilliant acts displaying far away yet so close ways to showcase the Central and Eastern African music.
Congolese singer/songwriter and finest bass player Mulele Matondo will finally bring to South East London the “sacred rhythmic fire” of Matondology Riot, a truly explosive jam-session moving from the smooth waves of soukous beats and ending in uncharted and intoxicating Afro-funk waters.
To set the mood to the show, Ugandan multi-instrumentalist and composer Seby Ntege will be supported by his far-reaching and multi-cultural band to revive the traditional Busonga repertoire and they will be spicing it up with vibrant Afro-soul and African diasporic influences.
If you are looking for a full-immersion in African sounds, Woolwich Works is the place to be on the 3rd of February!
