Justin Adams & Mauro Durante are set to release their eagerly awaited second album, Sweet Release, on the 18th of October through Italian label Ponderosa Music. The album’s lead single, also titled “Sweet Release,” vividly showcases Adams’s robust guitar stylings meshed with Durante’s rhythmic mastery on the tamburello frame drum. This track exemplifies the duo’s distinctive blend of traditional and roots music with a progressive perspective, showcasing the broad musical exploration they have embarked upon together.

The album was recorded live, a technique chosen to capture the vibrant energy of their live performances and to highlight the artistic evolution of both musicians. Through extensive touring, Adams and Durante have refined their partnership. Adams draws from his experiences with music legends like Robert Plant and Sinéad O’Connor, as well as his deep engagement with North and West African musical traditions. Durante brings his profound roots in Southern Italian folk music and his involvement with Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, adding depth and authenticity to their collaborative sound.

To celebrate the release, they will embark on a UK tour, starting with a performance at London’s Hootananny on the 22nd of October. The tour will continue through major cities including Bristol and Oxford, culminating in Swansea at The Welfare on the 3rd of November.
