Puerto Rican artist Residente and Colombian-Canadian singer Jessie Reyez have released a live version of their single “El Encuentro” from Residente’s latest album, Las Letras Ya No Importan. This acoustic session, released on 4th July, is part of a series of live performances showcasing their collaboration.
“El Encuentro” explores themes of lingering love and heartbreak, expressing the emotions of missing someone and admitting continued feelings despite separation. The lyrics convey a sense of longing and the painful truth of still being in love.
Residente’s latest album covers a wide range of musical styles, from the bluesy “Problema Cabrón” to the Fania-inspired “En Talla,” offering a diverse sonic experience. The album’s extensive length and eclectic production reflect Residente’s ambition, with depth in lyrical content and a variety of guest artists adding to its richness.
