One of the best up and coming festivals bands Alma twist makes their debut at the Magic Garden stage

ALMA TWIST

Inspired by what is happening in culture, society and daily life, Alma Twist writes with feeling and commentary. Lyrical topics including wealth disparity, social media, political constructs and self-development. The lead singer Kat writes songs that come with a message, she believes that music is a platform for change, either internally or externally, writing about how the world effects you and you effect it.

Musically taking inspiration from Artists such as Hiatus Kaiyote, Fela Kuti, Tune Yards, Amy Winehouse and Lianne La Havas, the band have molded their sound around Hip-hop beats, funky base lines, jazz chords and Punchy brass parts.

Alma twist have had amazing support from BBC introducing with their lastest singles becoming ‘track of the week’ and ‘tip of the week’. 2022 started with supporting Nubiyan Twist on there recent freedom fables tour, and has lead onto a busy summer playing festival stages at Glastonbury, secret garden party to name a fe

DJ Sean Ross (Fambula)

A Dj/ promoter / producer who’s style of music reflects his journey from throwing “House4Rent” parties during the funky house and garage days of the mid 90’s, resident Dj at classic nights like “Glitterati” and “Space” at The Cross as well as “Fallen Angles “ at The Egg. After 5 years in Kenya producing the “Rift Valley Festival “, showcasing East African music, you can guess the musical pallet has widened! His current collective goes under the name “Fambula” a spin off from the festival in Africa which has hosted club nights, grassroots music venues and a radio show exposing new artists. Expect some classic house, disco, chunky hip hop beats and a little DnB with a tropical lick to keep you moving.
