MINISTRY OF DUB-KEY
Palestinian Dabke Dance meets Afro-Caribbean beats and reggae in a fusion of Arab electronic and dub sounds. Established in 2009, Ministry of Dub-Key is the pioneering band led by the talented duo of DJ/Producer Bruno Cruz, (key member of Palestinian rap veterans DAM) and MC/VOC Walaa Sbait (47SOUL).
Drawing inspiration from reggae music and Palestinian folklore, Ministry of Dub-Key skillfully weave them through a captivating fusion.Their innovation extends to introducing the Dabke dance and Mijwiz sound, expertly blended with hip-hop and Dancehall beats, giving rise to the vibrant Arab-A-Dub style.
Bruno’s visionary contributions have been instrumental in shaping the evolution of Palestine’s music scene. With his unique touch, he has infused reggae, hip-hop, and electronic genres with a distinctive flair. Complementing his talent, Walaa, an accomplished multidisciplinary artist, enriches the Ministry of Dub-Key with traditional Levantine sounds and soul-stirring vocals, adding an enthralling dimension for their dynamic performances.
They’ve been working together for years, collaborating with dozens of artists, members of the electro-remix collective Electrosteen and featured on the Reem Banna tribute album. This truly is an unmissable show, get ready for sick beats, a rhythmic performance and out-of-this-world vocals as the duo inspire ripples of resistance through their music.
